Their unit was designed by Dr. Inoue, over 15 years ago. We have a lot of respect for his invention. However, the important thing for you to realize is that the company that markets the product in the U.S. is a Multi-level Company. Another name for this marketing structure is Network Marketing.

In order for everyone to share in the profits, the structure of multi level is such that the actual price of the unit is artificially inflated. So the $480 price tag helps everyone in the pyramid to get a share of the action. When it comes to products sold by multi-level marketing companies, more expensive is not necessarily better. Their $500 chi exercise machines can't compare to the models that I sell for about half that (or less!). I work hard to offer you the lowest prices on the best chi exercise machines. I guarantee it.

The other issue that I think is absolutely essential is that their product has one speed. If you look at their patent, the original patent was for a multiple speed unit.
